Margaret J. Posey

April 12th, 1926 – July 30th, 2016

Margaret J. Posey, 90, of Vermont, passed away at 6:30 am on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville. She was born on April 12, 1926 in Vermont, the daughter of Jeremiah and Alice (Woodruff) McFadden. Margaret married Edison Posey in July of 1955 in Albany, Georgia. Edison preceded her death on June 27, 1975.

Also preceding her in death was her grandson, Jeremy Saville and great-grandson, Cole Posey.

Survivors include her 4 daughters, Bonnie (and William) Saville of Lynchburg, TN, Connie (and Rick Lukehart) Barr of Manito, Marie (and Neal) Gaither of Crystal River, FL and Alice (and Lyle) Waller of Swan Creek, 2 sons, Barry Posey of Vermont and Perry (and LeAnn) Posey of Oak Hills, CA, 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mararet was a waitress at Adair Café and Dixon Truck Stop in Macomb.

She was a member of the Vermont United Methodist Church. She enjoyed music, yard saling and cooking. She attended the Vermont Christian Church.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 1, 2016 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. John Bybee will be officiating.
A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment will be in the Vermont Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Vermont Christian Church.
