He was proceeded in death by his father, James, and his stepfather, Bob Everist.

Here is a memorial written by his son, Eric:

Robert Joseph Boone
1958 - 2015 R.I.P.

My father was a misunderstood man, but I will always remember him as the obstinate wanderer, incapable of subordination, yet willing to give himself entirely.

We try to put people in boxes, telling them what they should be. Some of us feel this is wrong and grumble about, others feel nothing, but some of us revolt. This rebellion is the human spirit screaming for the freedom to be, simply be.

Some are haunted by what they “should” be, but the bold shake off the ghost and transform into the individual. This act of molting brings with it the realization that you are born alone, and you die alone. Yet we are all one. The paradox of life leaves nothing wanting if you are willing to embrace the transient nature of all things.

My father embraced paradox and lived an uncompromised life, but he was a light bringer, a savior to some and teacher to others, in fault and folly as well as righteous action.
May he find the peace in death he could not find in life.
