Joseph L. Cassidy

August 9th, 1959 – October 19th, 2015

Joseph "Joe Bob" Cassidy, age 56, of Vermont, IL, passed away at 12:35 pm on October 19, 2015 at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb, IL. He was born on August 9, 1959 in Macomb, the son of Thomas and Luann (Ridenour) Cassidy. Joe Bob married Georgia Horwedel on November 24, 1990 in Table Grove, IL. She survives.

Also surviving are his two daughters, Addie (and Justin) Quinn of Beardstown, IL and Josie (and Adam Bauer) Cassidy of Table Grove, granddaughter, Harper Quinn of Beardstown, sister, Gerry (and Terry) Smith of Macomb and his brother, Dan (and Kathy) Cassidy of Table Grove. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Joe Bob worked at Western Illinois University as a Stationary Fireman. He was also a U.S. Navy Veteran. He enjoyed watching sports and was a fan of the Cardinals, Steelers and Fighting Illini.

Services will be held at 12 noon on Friday, October, 23, 2015 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, IL. Pastor Rob Harrison will be officiating with Military Rites by the Ipava American Legion. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday. Cremation Rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to the Vermont Fire and Rescue Squad or St. Jude Midwest Affiliate in Peoria, IL.
