Cathy Windsor

July 19th, 1961 – October 24th, 2015

Cathy L. Windsor, age 54 of Canton, IL, formerly of Astoria, passed away at 11:22 am on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at The Elms in Macomb, IL. She was born on July 19, 1961 in Macomb, the daughter of Max E. and Sandra A. (Danner) Cox.

She worked at the overall factory in Canton for 13 years. She then worked at Hamblin's Gas and Snacks in Astoria for 13 years and was working at Casey's General Store in St. David, IL as an assistant manager at the time of her passing.

Cathy was a member of the Astoria Christian Church. She enjoyed doing crafts and gardening, but most of all loved being "grandma".

She is survived by her daughter, Heily (and Heath VanDeVenter) Windsor of Astoria, two grandchildren, Maycen and Ashton VanDeVenter, her mother Sandra Howell of Astoria, her fiance Sam Aloian of Canton, her sister Connie Gunter, and two brothers, Alan and Arlan Cox, all of Astoria.

Services will be held on Thursday, October 29th at 1:00 pm at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Pastor Matthew Thiner will officiate. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 28th from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will take place in the Astoria Cemetery. Memorials may be made to her grandchildren's education fund established at the Ipava State Bank, Astoria branch.

I'm so sorry for the loss of Cathy, She was a dear friend of mine and Chucks, and she was my grandson Ryder's good buddy as well.Caseys will truly never be the same knowing that Cathy will never be there to greet us everyday. We will never hear her voice again, only in our mind. She was a beautiful kind and happy person.
