Norma Jean Clanin
April 30th, 1929 – October 27th, 2015
Norma Jean Clanin, age 86, of Pekin, IL passed away at 6:16 am on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at the Hallmark House in Pekin. She was born on April 30, 1929 in Seville, IL, the daughter of Walter and Bertha (Chenoweth) Beaird. Norma married Charles Clanin on June 24, 1947 in Lewistown, IL. Charles and Norma were married for nearly 48 years until his death on April 11, 1995.
Survivors include her daughter, Gloria (and Larry) Horner of Summum, IL, son, Randy Clanin of Pekin, 3 Granddaughters, Tammy Bollinger, Angela (and Bobby) Blinkenstaff and Kisha Stambaugh, 6 Great-Grandchildren, Klynton (Leesa Statler) Bollinger, Destini Bollinger, Aubri Blickenstaff, Mason Blickenstaff, Skye Stambaugh and Tucker Stambaugh and 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren, Oscar Jones and Jeffrey Bollinger.
Norma was a part of the service club at Camp Ellis during WW II in Ipava. She also worked at Moram’s Restaurant and the clock factory, both in Table Grove. She was also a homemaker.
She was a member of Summum Christian Church. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. She enjoyed camping and fishing and loved her family. They meant everything to her.
Services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, October 30, 2015 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. A visitation will take place from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Howard Cemetery in Smithfield, IL. Memorials may be made to the Summum Christian Church.
