Keith R. Prather

August 18th, 1951 – November 28th, 2015

Keith R. Prather, 64, of Astoria, passed away at 3:15 pm on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Heartland Health Care Center in Canton. He was born on August 18, 1951 in Rushville, the son of Kenneth and Lois (Sheckler) Prather. Keith married Rosemarie Simpson on October 11, 2006 in Lewistown, IL. She survives.

Also surviving are his 2 sons, Dan (and Carrie) Prather of Galesburg and Adam Prather of Astoria, Step-Daughter- Colbi Osborne of Astoria, 4 Grandchildren, Jerry, Max, Trenton and Heather Prather, 1 Step-Granddaughter, Greenlee Workman and 2 brothers, Russell (and Glenna) Prather of Astoria and Edward Prather of Clanton, AL.

Keith worked in the maintenance department at Cargill in Beardstown. He enjoyed woodworking and was an avid shooter.

Services will be held at 8 pm on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Pastor Josh Clevenger will be officiating. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded after the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Adam Prather Education Fund at Better Banks in Astoria.
