Dennis G. Heasley

May 20th, 1942 – December 18th, 2015

Dennis Heasley, 73, of Astoria, IL, passed away at 3:10 am on Friday, December 18, 2015 at Kindred Hospital in Peoria, IL. He was born on May 20, 1942 in Akron, OH, the son of William and Bernice (Derry) Heasley. Dennis married Sue Helfrick on July 16, 1998 in Camp Verde, AR. She survives.

Also surviving is his daughter, Tana Heasley of Sarasota, FL, two sons, Sean (and Sheri) Heasley of Bradenton, FL and Todd Heasley of Tampa, FL, two step-sons, Adam Stevenson of Beardstown, IL and Jason (and Shawna) Stevenson of Pawnee, IL, step-daughter, Pam (and Rick) Corbett of Astoria, IL, six grandchildren and his brother, Derry (and Cruz) Heasley of Massachusetts.

Dennis was owner and operator of his own surveying company. He surveyed such projects as the Skyway Bridge and Kennedy Space Center in Florida

He was also in the Air Force from 1960 to 1964 with a rank of Airman 2nd Class.

Dennis made Indian artifacts, such as drums, knives and peace pipes. He also enjoyed working with adults with autism and faceting stones into jewelry.

Cremation Rites have been accorded. Services will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at the Berean Christian Church in Ipava, IL at 4:00 p.m. Pastor Doug Krukewitt will officiate.
