Judith L. Busby

October 20th, 1943 – March 8th, 2016

Judy Busby, 72, of Astoria, passed away at 2:50 am on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at St. Johns Hospital in Springfield. She was born on October 20, 1943 in Havana, the daughter of Elwin and Lorene (Shaw) Sidwell. Judy married Leroy Bollinger on November 25, 1960 in Keokuk, IA. She later married Donald Busby on July 29, 1975 in Palmyra, MO. Donald preceded her in death on December 22, 1998.

Also preceding her in death are her parents, daughter-in-law, Londa Bollinger, 4 sisters, Sandra Tippey, Bonnie Hicks, Debbie Blunt and Vickie Beebe, and 1 brother, Stanley Sidwell.

Survivors include her daughter, Beverly (and Jimmy) Crenshaw of Astoria, son, Robert Bollinger of Browning, friend, Cecil Herring of Astoria, 1 granddaughter, Debbie (and Chad) Ingles, 3 great-grandchildren, Hannah Spencer, Hunter and Chloe Ingles, sister, Helen Davis of Camp Point, 2 brothers, Lyman (and Marilyn) Sidwell of Colchester and Sidney (and Sherry) Sidwell of Fulton, MO.

Judy was a waitress at Wilburs Coffee Cup and K.C.’s Place, both in Astoria, and Brown’s in Rushville, IL

She was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star in Astoria and the Astoria Christian Church, where she served as youth leader. Judy was a loving grandmother and enjoyed fishing, bird watching feeding, gardening, yard work and dancing.

Services will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, March 11, 2016 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Pastor Gary Sheets will be officiating. A visitation will take place from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at the funeral home in Astoria. Interment will be in the Astoria Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or American Heart Association.

Aunt Judy was such a fine person! She was such a hard worker and knew how to get anything done! So knowledgeable about everything and anything-she is going to be sorrowfully missed by many, especially her sister Helen. I am so sorry.
