Richard "Dick" Deary

June 29th, 1935 – April 4th, 2016

Dick Deary, 80, of Minooka, IL, formerly of Vermont and Astoria, passed away at 3:02 am on Monday, April 4, 2016 at Joliet Area Community Hospice in Joliet, IL. He was born on June 29, 1935 in Canton, IL, the son of George and Alice (Jeffrey) Deary. Dick married Shirley Wilson on January 17, 1952 in Palmyra, Missouri. She survives.

Also surviving are his three daughters, Cheryl (and Steve) Rees of Washington, IL, Kathy (and Randy) Gunderson of Minooka, IL and Pam (and Jeff) Ostheim of Shorewood, IL, 6 Grandchildren, Jenni (and Greg) Frasier, Ben (and Laura) Rees, Brad (and Val) Gunderson, Jill (and Joe) Vinachi, Ernie (and Christeen) Ostheim and Corrie Ostheim and 13 Great-Grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his grandson, Jacob Rees and granddaughter, Rebecca Rees.

Dick worked at Caterpillar for 32 years, retiring in 1984. He also owed and operated Vermont Bowl and Spare Room in Vermont, IL.

A private service has been held. Memorials may be made to the Joliet Area Community Hospice (250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL 60431).

Dear Shirley and family, Although I hadn't seen Dick for many years, I'll always remember him from the Dr.'s office in Ipava. We always had a good laugh about something when he came. I also own a piece of his woodworking that I will always cherish. Bless you all. Carolyn and Garth Cripe
