Terry L. Royer

October 12th, 1949 – April 19th, 2016

Terry L. Royer, 66, of Peoria, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 2:45 pm at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on October 12, 1949 in Rushville, IL, the son of Virgil Royer and Lela (Collins) Royer-Ray. Terry married Connie Bair on August 15, 1970 in Astoria. Connie and baby preceded him in death on June 5, 1979.

Also preceding him death are his parents, step-father, Hardin ‘Footsie’ Ray and granddaughter, Alexis Miller.

Survivors include his daughter Tisha (and Amanda Walker) Miller of Macomb, 2 step-sons, Shane (and Stacy) Gilmore of Banner and Marcus (and Tiffany) Sparks of East Peoria, step-daughter, Megan (and Joe) Bieze of East Peoria, 2 grandchildren, Laci and Colby Miller, 5 step-grandchildren, Jacob, Benton and Cassandra Gilmore, Morgan Sparks and Madison Bieze, special friend, Patty Wherley of Astoria, 2 sisters, Darlene (and Randall) Prather of La Prairie and Linda (and Dave) Shaw of Marion and several Nieces and Nephews.

Terry worked the milk route for Bob Walters Dairy. He was also a warehouse manager at Allied and a salesman at Wayne Dalton in Peoria. He was always working and had several side jobs.

He was raised in the Littleton Methodist Church and went to the Tulis School before moving to Astoria. He graduated from Astoria High School in 1967. He was a member of the Teamsters Union out of Peoria. Terry loved spending time with his grandchildren, watching Chicago Cubs games and boating. He couldn’t swim but loved being on the water. Terry was not hard to love was loved by many.

Services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, April 22, 2016 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, IL. Reverend Dixie Croxton will be officiating. A visitation will take place 2 hours prior to the service on Friday. Interment will be in the Astoria Cemetery in Astoria. Memorials may be made to a education fund for grandchildren Laci and Colby Miller in care of the Woodforest Bank in Macomb.
