Jan A. Hayes

August 17th, 1942 – May 5th, 2016

Jan Ann Hayes, 73, of Rushville, formerly of Vermont, passed away at 12:38 pm on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at her home. She was born on August 17, 1942 in Macomb, the daughter of Henry and Barbara (Kost) Hayes.

Survivors include her significant other, Wayne Grafton of Green Valley, AZ, brother, Tom (and Sue) Hayes of Ipava, God-daughter, Miranda Donna Taylor, 2 nephews, Josh (and Aaron) Hayes and Weston (and Elaine) Hayes, 2 great-nieces, Morgan and Alexa Hayes and her 2 Dogs, Daisey Mae and Rascal.

Jan was a caregiver. She liked to swim, travel on motorcycles, collecting precious memories and taking care or her dogs.

Services will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Carl Higgins will be officiating. A visitation will take place 1 hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Interment will be in the Vermont Cemetery in Vermont. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
