Lois A. Windsor
November 6th, 1930 – June 7th, 2016
Lois A. Windsor, 85, of Smithfield, passed away at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Graham Hospital in Canton. She was born on November 6, 1930 in Middlegrove, the daughter of Ralph and Ruby (Phillips) Taylor. Lois married Albert Windsor on February 26, 1949 in Lewistown, IL. He survives.
Also surviving is her daughter, Kathryn (and Danny) Clauson of Glasford, 2 sons, Allen (and Jeanette) Windsor of Havana and Ralph “Pepie” (and Charmane Burnett) Windsor of Smithfield, 5 Grandchildren, Sina DeGroot, Scott Chambers, Joshua Windsor, Micaela Windsor and Taylor Windsor, several great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces, 3 brothers, Cliff (and Geri) Taylor of Prairie City, Dick (and Nancy) Taylor of Middlegrove, and Ralph (and Crystal) Taylor of Canton, and 2 sisters, Sandy Mulligan of Canton and Mary Blessinger of Arizona.
She is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Misty Chambers, 4 sisters, Opal Estes, Beverly Oldham, Linda Cheek and JoAnn Morse, and 3 brothers, Bernard Taylor, Willie Taylor and Bob Taylor.
Lois was a CNA at several nursing homes
She was a hard worker who spent lots of time looking after her children and grandchildren and was described as a “farm house wife extraordinaire”. She was a diehard republican and Dodgers fan. She also enjoyed casinos, fishing, camping and cooking.
Services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, June 10, 2016 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, IL. Pastor Ellen Dodd will be officiating. A visitation will take place 1 hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Astoria. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Graham Hospice or donors choice.
