Helen M. Bubb

August 11th, 1925 – October 7th, 2016

Helen M. Bubb, age 91 of Ipava, IL, passed away at 8:20 am on Friday, October 7, 2016 at Clayberg Fulton County Nursing Center in Cuba, IL. She was born on August 11, 1925 in Astoria, IL, the daughter of Ross and Stella (White) Hulvey.

Helen is survived by two sons; Edwin (and Lynn) Bubb of Quincy, IL and Stanley (and Jayme) Bubb of Macomb, IL, three daughters; Margo Bubb of Ipava, IL, Emily (and Mike) Hollenback of Ipava, IL, and Annette (and David) Hull of Mason City, IL, seven grandchildren; Jeremy Bubb, Jennifer (and Brian) Roberts, Carrie Bubb, Kirsten Hollenback, Devin (and Becky) Buswell, Jordyn (and Sebastian) Benzi, and Dylan Hull, two great-grandchildren Alana Foose and Sydney Buswell, her sister Dorothy Weaver of Lafayette, IN, and three brothers Dean Hulvey of Mt. Sterling, IL, Robert (and Jeanette) Hulvey of Canton, IL, and Michael (and Shirley) Hulvey of Maryville, IL.

Helen was preceded in death by three sisters; Lucille Hamilton, Wilma Long, and Julia Goodwin, and two brothers, Ross Hulvey, Jr. and Marshall Hulvey.

She was a civilian worker at Camp Ellis and Camp Grant during WW II. She was the office manager for the University Of Illinois Extension Office in Lewistown, IL, retiring in 1990.

Helen was a member of the Ipava Christian Church where she served as Church Clerk, Deaconess, Elder, and on the church board. She was a member of the Fulton County HEA.

She was an artist, painting pictures and china. She enjoyed crafts, playing the piano, and spending time with her family, attending their activities and vacationing. She was also the scorekeeper for Bob's Ball Busters softball team.

Services will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at 10:30 a.m at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, IL. Pastor Brant Reed will officiate. Visitation will take place on Monday, October 10th from 5-8 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Ipava Christian Church or the Clayberg Fulton County Nursing Center. Interment will be in the Ipava Cemetery.
