Betty J. Bucher

October 24th, 1928 – May 26th, 2017

Betty J. Bucher, age 88, of Omaha, NE, formerly of Astoria, IL, passed away at 4:10 am on Friday, May 26, 2017 at Douglas County Health Center in Omaha, NE. She was born on October 24, 1928 in Warren County, Il, the daughter of Floyd and Trella (Pennell) Garrettson. Betty married Delmar Grant Bucher on June 6, 1948 in Astoria, IL. He preceded her in death on September 30, 2008.

Betty was also preceded in death by 2 brother and 5 sisters

She is survived by her son Gary (and Janelle) Bucher of Papillion, NE, four daughters, Teresa Cline of Yorktown, VA, Amy (and Mike) Wear of Council Bluffs, IA, Trella (and Don) Howe of Port Richey, FL, and Ketra (and Bobby Stone) Bucher of Cuba, IL, 13 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

Betty was a homemaker and a member of the Astoria Christian Church.

Services will be held on Wednesday, May 31st at 10:30 am at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Pastor Ray Artrip will officiate. Visitation will take place from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, May 30th at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Woodland Cemetery in Astoria. Memorials may be given to the Astoria Christian Church or the Astoria Fire Dept.
