Phylis J. McCombs

April 6th, 1937 – July 25th, 2017

Phylis J. McCombs, 80, of Astoria, IL, passed away at 8:20 am on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at The Elms in Macomb, IL. She was born on April 6, 1937 in Schuyler County, Illinois, the daughter of Dallas and Eva (Briney) Hamm. Phylis married Robert L. ‘Jake’ McCombs on December 17, 1951 in Palmyra, MO. He survives.

Also surviving is her daughter, Barb (and Wayne) Miller of Astoria, 2 sons, Craig (and Nancy) McCombs of Ironton, MO and Randy (and Janie) McCombs of Browning, IL, 5 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and 2 brothers, Robert (and Rita) Hamm of Marathon, FL and Richard (and Karen) Hamm of Chillicothe, IL.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Larry Hamm.

Phylis worked at Astoria Fiber Steel for several years.

Private services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Astoria Fire and Rescue Squad.
