Damon G. Duckwiler

April 12th, 1957 – August 16th, 2017

Damon G. Duckwiler, age 60 of Ipava, IL, passed away at 11:06 am Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at his home. He was born on April 12, 1957 in Canton, IL, the son of Earl and Gloria (Hamilton) Duckwiler.

He married Vicky Wathen Windsor and together they had 3 children, Joshua (Melissa Horner) Duckwiler of Canton, Chad Duckwiler of Sesser, IL, and Carrie (and Michael) Steele of Good Hope, IL Later Damon had another son, Austin Duckwiler-Horne who lives in Georgetown, IL.

Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, Remmington, Caleb, Hunter, Landen, Brysen, Hadley, Jaden, Serina and Marty, 2 sisters, Sandra Yocum of Bader, IL and Carol (and Neal) Lippold of Winter Garden, FL, 2 brothers, Gale (and Susan) Duckwiler of Summum, IL and Dennis (and Lisa) Duckwiler of Winter Garden, FL, and a special friend Terry Sliger Stoneking of Ipava.

Damon was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Bill Duckwiler and twin brother Raymond Duckwiler.

He worked for several years as a mechanic at Duck's Tire in Summum.

He was an expert at darts and playing pool. He was the best around and won several trophies.

Damon enjoyed camping, fishing, playing bags, and riding 4 wheelers.

Services will be held on Saturday, August 19th at 2:00 pm at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or McDonough District Hospice. Interment will be in the Summum Cemetery.
