Charlotte M. McGinnis

April 4th, 1927 – August 25th, 2017

Charlotte M. McGinnis, 90, of Lewiston, IL, passed away at 11:57 pm on Friday, August 25, 2017 at Prairie View Care Center in Lewistown. She was born on Monday, April 4, 1927 in Canton, IL, the daughter of Roy and Lucille (Beadles) Gray. Charlotte married Hartford P. “Jack” Curless on February 22, 1946 in Peoria, IL. He preceded her in death on June 21, 1981.

Also preceding her in death is her grandson, William D. Ogden, 3 sisters, Harriett Lazzod, Helen Mayall and Maxine Sutton and 5 brothers, Gene, Bill, Dennis, Chuck and Leo Gray.

Survivors include her 2 daughters, Connie (and Bill) Ogden of Havana, IL and Dianna Hilton of Chester, IL, 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren,3 sisters, Colleen Pitts of Phoenix, AZ, Joann Roberts of Denver, CO and Betty Harp of Mason City, IL and her brother, Robert Gray of Phoenix, AZ.

She worked at Canton Manufacturing Company for 21 years, retiring in 1989. She also was cook at South Fulton Grade School for 7 years and Dana Corporation in Havana for 5 years.

Charlotte enjoyed quilting, sewing, and fishing.

Services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Shawgo Memorial Home, Astoria, IL. Pastor Ken Peterson will be officiating. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Monday, August 28, 2017 at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Astoria. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
