Robert W. "Bob" Stambaugh
October 7th, 1950 – September 8th, 2017
Robert Wayne "Bob" Stambaugh, age 66 of Astoria, IL, passed away at 4:45 pm Friday, September 8, 2017 at his home. He was born on October 7, 1950 in Beardstown, IL, the son of Verle Junior "Buck" and Larella (Kaffenberger) Stambaugh. He married Jo Ann Skillen on August 2, 1975 in Lyons, IL. She survives.
Also surviving are his son Adam (and Katie Bryant) Stambaugh of Macomb, IL, his mother Larella Stambaugh of Astoria, his brother William "Bill" Stambaugh of Astoria, and the dogs, Harley Mae and Dozer.
He was preceded in death by son Alex, his dad Buck, and his brother Allen.
Bob was owner and operator of S and S Red Fox in Astoria.
He loved to golf, hunt and fish, go mushrooming, and was an avid reader.
Bob loved traveling and in July returned from a trip to Cuba that he thoroughly enjoyed.
He was a University of Illinois fan and an avid Cubs fan.
Visitation for Bob will be held on Wednesday, September 13th from 4-6 pm at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
The family would like to invite those attending to partake in Bob's favorite meal, breakfast, at 6pm after visitation on Wednesday, at the State Street Grill in Astoria.
