Delbert "Bud" Fawcett

January 16th, 1927 – July 23rd, 2014

Delbert "Bud" Fawcett, age 87 of Ipava, IL, passed away at 1:30 pm Wednesday, July 23rd at his home. He was born on January 16, 1927 in Table Grove, IL, a son of Lessley and Bertha (Belville) Fawcett. On December 11, 1948, Bud married Wanda Cooper in Lewistown, IL. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Betty (and Jaime) Cercone of Lewistown and Barbara Jones of Macomb, IL, three sons, Bob (and Brenda) Fawcett of Table Grove, Bill Fawcett of Marietta, IL, and Ben (and Gretchen) Fawcett of Ipava.10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mary Morrell of Canton, IL and Susie (and Buck) French of Havana, IL, and four brothers, Paul (and Mary) Fawcett of Frederick, IL, Lessley (and Jane) Fawcett, Jr. of Beardstown, IL, Robert (and Mary) Fawcett of Havana, and Merlyn (and Connie) Fawcett of Canton, GA.
Bud was preceded in death by two brothers, Edwin and William Fawcett and one sister Beatrice Howard.
He was an Army veteran, serving from 1945-1947 with a rank of Technician 4th grade.
He farmed and worked at Caterpillar Tractor Company in East Peoria for 30 years, retiring in 1985.
He was a member of the Berean Christian Church in Ipava, the Ipava American Legion Post #17, the Lewistown VFW #5001, the Lewistown Masonic Lodge # 104, Mohammed Shrines of Bartonville, IL, 32nd degree ANSAR Shrine Valley of Peoria, the IL Sheriffs Association, and the UAW Local 974.
Bud enjoyed going to the legion and playing cards. He also enjoyed camping, riding go-karts, and going to country music shows.
Services will be held on Saturday, July 26th at 11:00 am at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, IL. Pastor Doug Krukewitt will officiate. Masonic services will be conducted by the Lewistown Masonic Lodge. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Harris Cemetery in Table Grove with military rites conducted by the Ipava American Legion Post #17. Memorials may be given to the Ipava American Legion.

I'm sorry for your loss I believe my father was in service with Bud. I have a small note book with Buds name Beatrice Fawcett. Name and patty Cato dad wrote down his name was Harry Besco lived in table grove years ago
