Freida L. Ladd

December 5th, 1923 – March 19th, 2018

Freida L. Ladd, age 94 of Macomb, IL, passed away at 1:30 pm on Monday, March 19, 2018 at The Elms in Macomb. She was born on December 5, 1923 in Ashton, IL, the daughter of Glenn and Nellie (Smith) Ebbert. Freida married Joseph Karr Ladd on December 29, 1944 in Ipava, IL. He preceded her in death on May 18, 2014.

She was also preceded in death by one son Larry Ladd, one grandson B.J. Ladd, and her sister Norma Wold.

Surviving are three sons, Dan (and Diane) Ladd of Westminster, Colorado, Steve (and Beth) Ladd of Berlin, Maryland, and William (and Charmaine) Ladd of Inverness, Florida, 5 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.

Freida was a bookkeeper for Oney's Supermarket in Havana, IL.

After retirement, Freida and Joe spent their summers in Colorado as volunteers for the National Forest Service as Trail Head Hosts. They were awarded the Regional Honor Award by the National Forest Service for 20 years of service.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 23rd, 2018 at the Ipava Cemetery. There is no visitation. Memorials may be given to the US Forest Service.

I often visited Freida when I was in Macomb. She and Joe were special friends to my parents from Ipava Paul and Jean Connour.
