Betty Jean White

July 25th, 1937 – September 6th, 2018

Betty J. White, age 81, of Canton, IL, passed away at 5:06 pm on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Clayberg Fulton County Nursing Center in Cuba, IL. She was born on July 25, 1937 in Vermont, IL, the daughter of Cecil and Della (Emig) Wright Sr. Betty married Larry “Red” White in 1956 in Lewistown, IL. Larry preceded Betty in death on December 13, 2014.

Also preceding her in death is her brother, Gene Wright.

Survivors include her son, Kevin (and Val) White of Cuba, IL, daughter, Della (and John) Anderson of Astoria, IL, nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two sisters, Bessie Ellen Bricker of Astoria, and Doris Lafary of Smithfield, IL, and her brother, Bobby Wright of Southern Illinois.

Betty was a member of the Vermont United Methodist Church. Betty enjoyed going to the annual Spoon River Scenic Drive and auctions.

A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at the Vermont Cemetery in Vermont, IL, with Pastor Glen Edenburn officiating. A visitation will be held from 11 am to 12 noon on Sunday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria..
