Lola K. Lawson
April 3rd, 1938 – November 18th, 2018
Lola K. Lawson, 80, of Astoria, IL, passed away at 4:56 pm on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at her home. She was born on April 3, 1938 in Peoria, IL, the daughter of Wilbert and Erma (Moore) Remmers.
Survivors include her 3 daughters, Kathy (and Dennis) Anderson of Madisonville, TN, Felicia (and Todd) Duncan of Astoria, IL and Amber (and Ken Pierce) Lawson of Norwood, IL, daughter-in-law, Carol Lawson of Canton, IL, 10 Grandchildren, 10 Great-Grandchildren, and her sister, Sharon (and Don) Smith of Ipava, IL.
She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 Sons, Aaron and John Lawson, granddaughter Jessica Fisher, and her brother George Remmers.
Lola worked at the Peoria State Hospital, the Astoria Nursing Healthcare Center, the Lewistown IGA Deli, and did home care for several families in surrounding counties.
She was a member of Summum Christian Church, Astoria American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, the COM Amigos Club in Pekin, IL, and the Pirate Booster Club. She enjoyed making quilts, going on mystery bus trips, church and events, especially fellowship meals. Lola loved people and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Summum Christian Church in Summum, IL. Pastor Darrin Fish will be officiating. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Friday, November 23, 2018 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, IL. Interment will be in Astoria Cemetery. Meal to follow at the Summum Christian Church fellowship hall. Memorials may be made to the Summum Christian Church.

I'm so sorry to hear this! Lola and I worked at the Astoria Care Center, and she was an election judge for our area when we lived by Isaac Walton Campground...she was so funny, and a hoot to be around, and she always had something comical to say, whenever I ran into her before we moved to Bushnell...we were good friends, and there will never be another like her... I'm sure she will be missed greatly by those friends she was close to and her family. Please accept Butch and I's condolences...LaRita Maloney

Saddened to hear of Lola's passing.She was my mom's best friend growing up. Mom always spoke highly of her. I was fortunate enough to see her at family reunions in Canton. My condolences to her family.
