Michael A. Dean

April 27th, 1956 – March 1st, 2019

Michael A. Dean, age 62 of Astoria, Illinois, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2019 in Largo, Florida. He was born on April 27, 1956 in Beardstown, Illinois, the son of Dale and Diane (Poppenhager) Dean. Mike married Jody Hamblin on August 31, 1991 in Astoria, Illinois. She survives.

Also surviving are his mother, Diane Dean of Astoria, two sons, Kevin (and Devin) Dean of Rushville, Illinois and Kyle (and Lindsey) Dean of Peoria, Illinois, three daughters, Kara Dean of Vermont, Illinois, Katy Dean of Springfield, Illinois, and Katie Ratcliff of Astoria, Illinois, eleven grandchildren, Trisha Haskins, River Dean, Emma Lanier, Marley Dean, Livia Dean, Carson Dean, Brycen Dean, Jackson Dean, D.J. Ratcliff, Daisy Ratcliff, and Dawson Ratcliff, and two sisters, Pam (and Michael) France of Table Grove, Illinois and Denise Dean of the state of Texas.

Mike was preceded in death by his father Dale and one sister, Brenda Reynolds.

Mike worked of Iron Workers Local 112 of Peoria, Illinois.

He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, and swimming.

Mike was a member of Iron Workers Local 112 of Peoria, Illinois

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at 3:00 pm at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, IL. Hollis Shafer will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Iron Worker's Local 112 Apprentice Fund or the Holy Pursuit Dream Foundation.
