Gary "Butch" D. Hazzard

July 28th, 1950 – October 7th, 2019

Gary “Butch” D. Hazzard, 69, of Astoria, IL, passed away at 7:20 am on Monday, October 7, 2019 at The Elms in Macomb, IL. He was born on July 28, 1950 in Canton, IL, the son of Carl and Eleanor (Miles) Hazzard. Butch married Janet Fouts on December 30, 2011 in Macomb. She survives.

Also surviving is his son, Tyler (and Sara) Woodside of Bushnell, IL, daughter, Julie (and Scott Bilbrey) Wade of Godfrey, IL, 3 grandchildren, Karsin Mibbs, Makenzie Woodside and Gavin Woodside, and his sister, Janelle Hazzard of Bangor, ME.

He is preceded by Parents.

Butch worked as a filing clerk for Horace Mann in Springfield, IL. He also worked at ACE Hardware in Havana, IL.

He was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Macomb, IL. Butch was proud grandpa to his grandchildren.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A visitation will be held from 10 am to 12 noon on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. A private graveside service will be held at a later time. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.

We are so sorry to hear about Butch's passing. Great memories of him from school to the present. He was always friendly and smiling. Never knew a stranger. He shall be missed but the memories shall live on in everyone's heart. God bless everyone Lorenda and Alvin Spilker.
