Evelyn K. Pittman

May 15th, 1947 – October 21st, 2019

Evelyn Kaye (Gooden) Pittman, age 72 of Astoria, IL, passed away at 3:00 pm Monday, October 21, 2019 at her home. She was born on May 15, 1947 in Macomb, IL, the daughter of Lloyd and Virginia (Price) Woolam. She married Rick Pittman on May 23, 2009 in South Dakota. He preceded her in death on June 2, 2018.

Evelyn was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Richard Woolam.

She is survived by her son David (and Kelly) Gooden of Kingsport, TN, her daughter Angela Curtis of Chester, SD, her son, Steve (and Teresa) Gooden of Blandinsville, IL,her step-son Billy Moore of Macomb, IL, her daughter-in-law Anita McCoy of Rockport, TX, 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, her two sisters, Rosa Lee (and Ron) Gray of Macomb, IL and Betty Kiethley of Stronghurst, IL, and her three brothers; Frank Woolam of Macomb, IL, Robert (and Cindy) Woolam of Harrisburg, SD, and Donnie (and Barb) Woolam of Macomb, IL.

Evelyn was an over-the-road truck driver, driving for Heartland Trucking out of Iowa City, IA and Dakotaland Transportation of Sioux Falls, SD, from where she retired.

She was a member of the Grace Bible Church in Astoria, IL.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, IL. Pastor Ben Murray will officiate. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the services. Memorials may be given to the McDonough District Hospice, Shriner's Hospital for Children, or the Grace Bible Church in Astoria, IL. Interment will take place in the Vermont Cemetery at a later date.

I am so sorry for your loss. She was my best friend as well as my cousin, and I shall miss her. May God grant you strength to get though this time and the days ahead. The world is a better place for her having been here. Love and hugs to her children and family.
