Norman C. Thomas

February 8th, 1945 – November 2nd, 2019

Norman C. Thomas, 74, of Macomb, IL, passed away at 9:50 pm on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at his home. He was born on February 8, 1945 in Canton, IL, the son of Claire L. and Evelyn D. (Batterton) Thomas. Norman married Patricia Switzer on October 10, 1970 in Ipava, IL. She survives.

Also surviving are his son, Kary (and Amy) Thomas of Midwest City, OK, his mother, Evelyn Thomas of Darlington, SC, and his brother, Keith (and Phyllis) Thomas of Florence, SC.

He is preceded by his father and brother Randall Thomas.

Norman worked at NTN Bower in Macomb, IL for over 40 years in the Maintenance Dept.

He was an Air Force veteran, serving from 1964 to 1967 with the 604th Military Airlift Support Squadron with a rank of Airman First Class.

He was a member of the National Rifle Association. Norman was a devout Green Bay Packer fan, avid hunter and fisherman and an active member of the Macomb community.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 9th, 2019 in the Ipava Cemetery with military rites provided by the Ipava American Legion Post #17. Pastor Doug Krukewitt will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ipava American Legion Post #17.
