Linda A. Easley

July 17th, 1935 – June 27th, 2020

Linda A. Easley, 84, of Astoria, IL, passed away at 6:10 am on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Rushville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was born on July 17, 1935 in Astoria, the daughter of Orlen and Vilda (Gilson) Poppenhager. Linda married Richard Easley on October 3, 1953 in Palmyra, MO. He preceded her in death on August 10, 2002.

Also preceding her in death is her son, Jeff Poppenhager, 2 grandsons, Antonino Easley and Jakob Poppenhager, brother, Max Poppenhager and her sister, Rosemary Leto.

Survivors include her daughter, Shelly Saunders of Ocala, FL, 3 sons, Jay Easley of Ocala, FL, Rich (and Deidra) Easley of Astoria, and Kyle (and Jill) Easley of Astoria, 11 grandchildren, Jessa, Cash, Tiffany, Tate, Tyler E., Cody, Josh, Jordan, Natalie, Tyler S., and Karli, and several great-grandchildren, 4 sisters, Carol Davis of East Galesburg, IL, Bobby Jo Willey of Macomb, IL, Nancy Pressler of Springfield, IL and Patsy (and Mick) Miller of Pittsfield, IL, and 2 brothers, Phil (and Marlena) Poppenhager of Astoria and Steve Poppenhager of Macomb.

She was a bookkeeper for Bader and Company in Astoria for several years.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Ipava. She enjoyed going to horseraces, fishing, and loved having family and friends over to the house. She always had a full house.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Friday, July 3, 2020 at the Summum Cemetery in Summum, IL. Pastor Matthew Thiner and the Ipava Order of the Eastern Star will be officiating. Memorials may be made to the Astoria Fire and Rescue Squad or the American Diabetes Association.

Sorry for your loss. Spent lots of time at Dick and Linda's over the years. From mushroom fries to fish fries. You could always count on a good meal and great visiting.
