Pollyanna S. Pittman

October 6th, 1932 – September 2nd, 2020

Pollyanna Sara Pittman, age 87 of Macomb, Illinois, passed away at 5:35 pm Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at The Elms in Macomb. She was born on October 6, 1932 in Summum, Illinois, the daughter of Russell and Esther (Stambaugh) Kessler. Pollyanna married Arthur J. "Jack" Pittman on October 20, 1951 in Astoria, Illinois. He preceded her in death on November 5, 2000.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, James Pittman and John (and Jane) Pittman, one sister Verlena Driver, and her parents.

Surviving are three daughters, Pam (and Wendell) Willison of Ipava, Illinois, Joyce (and Jim) Angell of Macomb, Illinois, and Stephanie (and Bob) Gustin of Amarillo, Texas, one son Jay (and Carmen) Pittman of Tennessee, Illinois, one daughter-in-law Susan Pittman of Frederick, Illinois, 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, three sisters, Elaine (and Dwayne) Yost of Manchester, Kentucky, Emilee (and Wallace) Miller of Rice Lakes, Wisconsin, and Margaret (and Luther) Fowler of Avon, Indiana, one brother Roger (and Jane) Kessler of Beardstown, Illinois, numerous nieces and nephews, and three sisters-in-law, Marianne Pittman of Astoria, Illinois, Elizabeth Gramm of Nashville, Tennessee, and Barbara Miller of Astoria, Illinois.

Pollyanna was a wife, mother sister, aunt and grandma extraordinaire. As well as being a homemaker, she had a variety of jobs, including wedding cake baker, cosmetic consultant, and last working as a cashier at Walmart in Macomb, retiring in 1997.

She was a member of the Woodland Church of the Brethren in Astoria and her faith in the Lord was a very important part of her life. She loved her family deeply. She also enjoyed horses, flower and vegetable gardening, and baking, especially with her grandchildren.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be given in Pollyanna's memory to The Elms in Macomb or the McDonough District Hospice. Memorials may be sent to the funeral home at PO Box 525, Astoria, IL 61501.
