Terry P. Smith

November 10th, 1953 – September 21st, 2020

Terry P. Smith "Smitty", 66, of Vermont, IL, passed away at 5:54 am on Monday, September 21, 2020 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. He was born on Tuesday, November 10, 1953 in Rushville, IL, the son of Paul and Marjorie (Haney) Smith. Terry married Suzie Adcock on April 11, 1981 in Vermont. She survives.

Also surviving are his 2 sons, Jonathan Smith and Andrew Smith, both of Vermont, 2 daughters, Shantell (and Tony) Hayes and Katryna (and G. Calvin) Greenlief Jr., both of Vermont, 6 grandchildren, Kaleb Greenlief, Quinten (and Krista) Hayes, Aussten Hayes, Allyssa Hayes, Collin Greenlief and Paizley Smith, sister, Sue (and Barry) Beck of Astoria, IL, and 2 brothers, Mark (and Lisa) Smith of Texas and Russell Smith of Florida.

He is preceded by his parents and brother, Bill Smith.

Terry worked for the City of Vermont and Vermont Water Department for 40 years.

He was a Volunteer Firefighter for the Vermont Fire Department and a member of the Sons of the American Legion. He was an avid Chicago Bears and St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Cremation rites have been accorded. No services are planned at this time. Memorials may be made to the Vermont Fire Department, Vermont Rescue Squad or the Terry Smith Memorial Fund.
