Ray F. Hamm

October 5th, 1932 – November 20th, 2020

Ray F. Hamm, 88, of Ipava, IL, passed away at 2:55 am on Friday, November 20, 2020 at Havana Health Care Center in Havana, IL. He was born on October 5, 1932 in Chatham, IL, the son of Charles and Alice (Fahs) Hamm. Ray married Barbara Derry in January 1955 in Astoria, IL. She survives.

Also surviving are his 3 sons, Daniel (and Becky) Hamm of Astoria, Douglas (and Teresa) Hamm of Astoria, and Jerry (and Eileen) Hamm of Chicago, IL, daughter, Sally (and Steve) Lovett of Hiawatha, IA, 4 grandchildren, Eric Hamm, Joel (and Hope) Hamm, Jason Lovett and Jenna Lovett, and 2 great-granddaughters, Everly and Eliza Hamm.

He is preceded by his 2 sisters, Mae Batterton and Ruth Danner.

Ray was a farmer. He also worked for International Harvester in Canton, IL during several winters.

He was a member of the Woodland Church of the Brethren. He enjoyed going to auctions and flea markets, tractors, and collecting toy tractors. He loved country music and “touring the back roads”.

A graveside service will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, November 22 in the Woodland Cemetery in Astoria. Pastor Lisa Fike and Pastor Kevin Kessler will be officiating. Memorials may be made to the Woodland Church of the Brethren or the Alzheimer’s Association.
