Donald L. Davis Sr.

October 3rd, 1945 – December 14th, 2020

Donald L. Davis Sr., 75, of Astoria, IL, passed away at 4:37 am on Monday, December 14, 2020 at Rushville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rushville, IL. He was born on October 3, 1945 in Beardstown, IL, the son of George and Georgia “Lorena” (Yeager) Davis. Donnie married Rose Maria Cleavinger on December 11, 1971 in Astoria. She preceded him in death on November 9, 2013.

Also preceding him are his parents, 2 brothers, John Yeager and Howard Davis, and his sister, Ruby Dober.

Survivors include his son, Donald (and Kelly) Davis Jr. of Astoria, IL, 2 granddaughters, Kelsey Davis and Kirsten Davis, both of Astoria, and 2 sisters, Helen (and Bill) Lucas of Rushville and Virginia Thomas of Astoria.

Donnie worked at JBS in Beardstown from June 1989 to October 2010. He also worked at PAG in Astoria.

A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, December 19, 2020 in the Astoria Cemetery. Pastor Matthew Thiner will be officiating.

So sorry for your loss. Donnie played a big part in Boy Scouting when Donnie was in it. He was such a nice guy. I always got to see him when I was picking up Chris and Andy. Our sympathy to all of you. Love John and Judie

So very sad to see this in the Argus this week. A very warm heartfelt condolence to his family. I will miss seeing him walk all the time. Will miss the talks up on the picnic tables in the town park with Dennis Senior.
