Mickey D. Williams

September 8th, 1943 – April 30th, 2021

Mickey D. Williams, 77, of Browning, IL, passed away at 10:00 pm on Friday, April 30, 2021 at his home. He was born on September 8, 1943, the son of Frances and Betty (Westerfield) Williams. Mickey married Susan Chambers on April 23, 1985 in Canton, IL. She survives.

Also surviving is his daughter, Sandy (and Dean) Roddis of Ipava, IL, granddaughter, Sarah Roddis of Table Grove, IL, great-grandson, Ethan Bucher of Canton, IL, step-daughter, Anita (and Mike) Jurick, and step-son, Jim Hanson.

He is preceded by his daughter, Lisa Ann Parry, grandson, Erik Bucher, sister, Philena Harlan, and 2 brothers, Gary Williams and Francis “Frank” Williams, Jr.

He worked at International Harvester and AMAX Coal Mine for several years.

Mickey was an excellent musician who could play any instrument. He loved playing music and entertaining at nursing homes and picking with his friends. Music was his life.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Audrey Day will be officiating. A visitation will take place 1 hour prior to the service on Sunday. Interment will be in Union Chapel Cemetery in Astoria. Memorials may be made to Cass-Schuyler Hospice.
