Randy J. Clanin

July 5th, 1950 – June 28th, 2021

Randy J. Clanin, 70, of Pekin, IL, passed away at 8:53 pm on Monday, June 28, 2021 at Hallmark Healthcare in Pekin, IL. He was born on July 5, 1950 in Pekin, IL, the son of Charles and Norma Jean (Beaird) Clanin.

Survivors include his sister, Gloria (and Larry) Horner of Astoria, IL, 3 nieces, Tammy Bollinger of Astoria, Angela (and Bobby) Blickenstaff of Astoria, and Kisha Stambaugh of Astoria, 3 great-nephews, Klynton Bollinger of Mt. Pleasant, IA, Mason Blickenstaff of Astoria, and Tucker Stambaugh of Astoria, 3 great-nieces, Destini Bollinger of Macomb, IL, Aubri Blickenstaff of Havana, IL and Skye Stambaugh of Astoria, and 5 great-great-nieces and nephews, Jeffrey, Huntlee, Londyn, Oscar, and Parker

He is preceded by his parents.

Randy worked at Caterpillar Tractor Company for 35 years, retiring in March of 2008.

Randy served in the U.S. Army from 1970 to 1972 as a Military Policeman in White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico.

He was a member of UAW Local 974. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, yard work and carpentry. Randy was known as an excellent handyman who could work on anything.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, July 2, 2021 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Military Rites will be provided by the Astoria American Legion Post# 25 at 8 pm. Cremation rites will be accorded following visitation. A graveside service will be held at 7 pm on Friday, July 9, 2021 in the Howard Cemetery in Smithfield, IL. Pastor Darrin Fish will be officiating. Memorials may be made to the Astoria American Legion Post #25.

For Gloria, Tammy, Angela and Kisha: whereas I never met Randy Clanin I do know you four. He was too young to leave this life. I hope your memories of being with him will uplift you. Rosemary Perdew
