Doris K. Peterman

September 19th, 1955 – August 8th, 2021

Doris K. Peterman, 65, of Summum, IL, passed away at 2:45 pm on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at her home. She was born on September 19, 1955 in Canton, IL, the daughter of Clarence and Geraldine (Hobbs) Lane. Doris married George Peterman on December 6, 2010 in Lewistown, IL. He survives.

Also surviving are her two sons, Matthew Morgan of Liverpool, IL and Kyle Andrew Morgan of Astoria, IL, daughter, Autumn Abbott of Peoria, IL, 2 step-sons, Bocephus (and Erica) Peterman of Astoria, IL and Jesse Peterman of Pekin, IL, 2 step-daughters, Cassandra Graham of Colchester, IL and Cheyenne (and Josh) Rutherford of Bristol, VA, 7 grandchildren, 2 brothers, Jack (and Lori) Lane of Bath, IL and Dale Lane of Havana, IL, 4 sisters, Gertie (Robert Ross) Bubert, Sally Merwin of Havana, Dessie (Wayne) Prater of Cadet, MO and Ruth Ann Lynch of Gulfport, MS.

She is preceded by her parents, sister, Betty Hughes, and 2 brothers, John and Jerry Lane.

Doris worked as a press operator for over 30 years at McClean Forge. She liked to garden and go fishing. She also enjoyed baking. She loved animals, such as chickens, ducks, turkeys, rabbits, and dogs.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, August 12, 2021 in the Summum Cemetery in Summum. Kevin Sager will be officiating. A visitation will take place from 9 to 10 am on Thursday at Shawgo Memorial Home. Memorials may be made to the Doris Peterman Memorial Fund.
