Sara Jeanne Young
September 17th, 1936 – January 7th, 2022
Sara Jeanne Young, age 85 of Astoria, Illinois, passed away at 10:50 pm at her home on Friday, january 7, 2022. She was born on September 17, 1936 in Astoria, the daughter of James Wyatt and Rubye Mae (Wheeler) Grimmer. Jeanne married Jack Daniel Young on December 31, 1956 in Norfolk, Virginia. He preceded her in death on September 30, 1993.
Jeanne was also preceded in death by her son Kevin and her parents.
Surviving are her two daughters, Kimberly "Missy" Fizzell of Stoughton, Wisconsin and Kandy (and Kevin) Clark of Astoria, three grandchildren; Morgan (and Nicholas Huffman) Clark of Madison, Wisconsin, Nathan (and Jasmine Seitz) Clark of Peoria, Illinois and Barbara Kelly of Stoughton, Wisconsin, and her sister Rita McConahay of Bartonville, Illinois.
Jeanne first worked at the Vermont Foundry in Vermont, Illinois. She later worked for Bower Bearing in Macomb for 14 years and then was the owner and operator of Jeane's Kountry Kitchen in Astoria for many years.
She enjoyed quilting and working in her yard.
Private services will be held. Interment will be in the Astoria Cemetery. Memorials in Jeanne's memory may be made to the Astoria Rescue Squad or the Alzheimer's Association. They may be sent to the funeral home at PO Box 525, Astoria, Illinois.
