Ruth Shaw
August 19th, 1917 – January 31st, 2015
Ruth Shaw, age 97, of Astoria, IL, passed away at 7:10 pm on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Pekin Manor in Pekin, IL. She was born on August 19, 1917 in Schuyler County, IL, the daughter of Asa and Lelia (Hale) Bartlett. She married Myron Shaw on September 26, 1937 in Rushville, IL. He preceded her in death on September 13, 1971. She later married Robert Riebling on July 16, 1984 in Lewistown, IL. He preceded her in death on January 9, 1986.
Ruth is survived by her three children, Stanley (and Lillie) Shaw of Pekin, Judy Gain of Chesterfield, MO and Steve (and Kelly) Shaw of Morton, IL, her six grandchildren, Ann (and Greg Swanson) Gain, Gretchen (and Kim Hamainlainen) Gain, Patrick (and Rebecca) Shaw, Kevin (and Elizabeth) Shaw, Carrie (and Aaron) Jones, Katherine Shaw and nine great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Jesse Bartlett, Wayne and William.
She was a homemaker, seamstress, and owner/operator of Shaw Feed and Farm Supply after the death of her husband Myron. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards and bragging about her grandchildren.
Ruth was a member of the Astoria United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star #227 of Ipava, IL, and the Astoria American Legion Auxiliary.
Servies will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Eastern Star services to be provided by her lodge. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Astoria Cemetery in Astoria. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Astoria United Methodist Church or St. Jude Quincy to Peoria Run.

I have many good memories of spending time with Judy at the Shaw home. Myron and Ruth were always very nice to me.
