Phyllis Ann (Huff) Lyons

August 27th, 1934 – February 4th, 2015

Phyllis Ann (Huff) Lyons, age 80, passed away at 1:30 am Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at her apartment at Tipton Place, Huntington, IN. She was under hospice care at the time of her death.

She was born on August 27, 1934 near Ipava, IL, a daughter of Russell and Wanda (Lawver) Huff. Raised on the family farm, Phyllis was a graduate of Vermont-Ipava-Table Grove High School near Vermont, IL.

Known for her good humor and kindness, Phyllis enjoyed telephone conversations with her dear friends and family, babying her cats, being outdoors and being part of her beloved grandchildren’s lives. Besides being a housewife, she worked more than a decade as an electronics inspector at Utrad-Magnetek in Huntington, IN.

She was a member of New Hope United Brethren in Christ Church and VFW Post 2689 Ladies Auxiliary, both in Huntington.

She is survived by two sons, Randy (Cindy Caley) Kreps of Huntington and Rick Kreps of Columbia City, IN, and three grandchildren, Kyle, Kayley, and Kaitlyn Kreps, all of Huntington.

Services will be held on Monday, February 9, 2015 at 11:30 am at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, IL. Pastor Dave Vandeman will officiate. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Vermont Cemetery, Vermont, IL. Memorials may be made in Phyllis’ memory to the donor’s choice.
