Beverly Ann Carlton

February 22nd, 1932 – December 5th, 2022

Beverly Ann Carlton, 90, of Astoria, IL, passed away at 5 pm on Monday, December 5, 2022 at Graham Hospital in Canton, IL. She was born on February 22, 1932 in Tecumseh, NE, the daughter of Charles and Julia (Stephens) McKinney. Beverly married Wilbur Carlton on November of 1951. Together they had 3 daughters, Vicki, Julie and Lynn.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Julie Pickel of San Antonio, TX and Lynn Ann Carlton of Gainesville, GA, 2 granddaughters, Jessica Marie (and Jose) Rivera of Florida and Kira (and Russell) Owen of San Antonio, TX, 2 great-granddaughters, Jazmyne Headley and Lenna Headley.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Vicki Lynn Carlton, parents, and brother, Charles Dwayne McKinney.

Beverly graduated from Normal College. She was a music teacher in the Astoria School District. She taught grade school and junior high music. At the high school level she taught choir and stage band.

She was a member of the Astoria United Methodist Church where she served on numerous boards. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. Beverly enjoyed crafting and she loved being around her family and friends.

A service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Reverend Robert Greene will be officiating. Interment will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Astoria United Methodist Church.
