Doris E. Robertson

July 7th, 1925 – December 24th, 2022

Doris Robertson, 97, of Ipava, IL, passed away at 5:48 am on Saturday, December 24, 2022 at her home. She was born on July 7, 1925 in Astoria, IL, the daughter of Hugh and Susie (Farwell) Curless. Doris married Philip Robertson on April 27, 1947 in Havana, IL. Philip preceded Doris in death on June 16, 1998.

Also preceding her in death is her son, Dennis Robertson, 2 great-grandsons, Dalton Blakley and Cole Posey, son-in-law, Pat Phillips, 6 sisters, Nellie Ruth, Edith Lee, Olive Howell, Opal Schisler, Nora Curless and Myrna Phillips, and 4 brothers, William, Hartford, John and Ted Curless.

Surviving is her daughter Hila Phillips, 3 sons, Steve Robertson of Ipava, Chris (and Jan) Robertson of Avon, IL, and Allen (and Sheila) Robertson of Ipava, daughter-in-law, Peggy Robertson of Ipava, and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Doris went to work in 1963 at Bluebell Manufacturing in Bushnell. She also worked at Fiber Steel, Atwood, and Dana manufacturing. She retired from Canton Manufacturing in April of 1994 at the age of 69.

She was a member of the Ipava Christian Church. She loved to sew, quilt, crochet, knit, fish, garden, cook, bird watching, and loved to have her home full of family.

Services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Pastor Brandt Reed will be officiating. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Interment will be in the Ipava Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Ipava Christian Church or the Ipava American Legion.
