Raymond E. Stambaugh

July 23rd, 1944 – May 6th, 2023

Raymond E. Stambaugh, 78, of Ipava, IL, passed away at 8:04 am on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Carle Health-Methodist Hospital in Peoria, IL. He was born on July 23, 1944 Canton, IL, the son of Mark and Edith (Curless) Stambaugh.

He is survived by his 3 sons; Robbie Stambaugh of Ipava, Randy (and Sheila Walters) Stambaugh of Ipava, and Cody (and Brittany) Stambaugh of Good Hope, IL, 7 grandchildren; Haley (and Jesse) VanDyke, Kaitlyn Stambaugh, Lauren Powell, Lindsay Powell, Corbin Stambaugh, Olivia Stambaugh and Harper Stambaugh, 3 great-grandchildren; Isaac VanDyke, Adam VanDyke and Hannah VanDyke, and sister, Janice Roberts of Augusta, IL.

He is preceded by his parents and brother, Charles “Bobby” Stambaugh.

Raymond was an over the road trucker and also worked for Amax Coal Company. He also raised livestock, especially cattle and horses.

He served on the Ipava Fire Department for several years. He loved his horses, picking his guitar and playing music. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Raymond loved his grandchildren and all children in general.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held from 5 to 9 pm on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at the Ipava American Legion. Memorials may be made to the Ipava Fire and Rescue Squad and may be sent to Shawgo Memorial Home, PO Box 525, Astoria, IL 61501.
