Nelda L. Herriford

February 17th, 1922 – March 19th, 2015

Nelda L. Herriford, age 93, of Macomb, IL, formerly of Ipava, passed away at 4:15 a.m. Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Heartland Health Care Center in Macomb. She was born on February 17, 1922 in Summum, a daughter of Ralph and Edith (Beam) Parr. Nelda married Lewis M. Herriford on February 17, 1939 in Palmyra, MO. He preceded her in death on October 15, 1983.

She was also preceded in death by one sister, Wanda Averill, and two brothers, Jack Parr and Dean Parr.

Nelda is survived by two sons, Richard Herriford of Gardiner, MT and Jim (and Carol) Herriford of Billings, MT, 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Flossie Danner of Macomb, IL.

She worked at Camp Ellis during World War II. She also worked at a factory in Bushnell, IL and did interior decorating.

Nelda was a member of the Berean Christian Church in Ipava, IL.

Services will be held on Tuesday, March 24th at 11:00 a.m. at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Pastor Doug Krukewitt will officiate. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 23rd from 6-8 pm at the funeral home in Astoria. Memorials may be made to the Ipava American Legion.
