Ellen 'Susie' M. French

June 17th, 1945 – August 19th, 2023

Ellen M. “Susie” French, 78, of Havana, IL, passed away at 6:43 am on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Mason District Hospital in Havana. Ellen was born on June 17, 1945 in Table Grove, the daughter of Leslie and Bertha (Belville) Fawcett. Susie married Earl “Buck” French on June 12, 1963 in Lewistown. Buck preceded Susie in death on January 26, 2022.

Also preceding her in death are her parents, 5 brothers; Delbert ‘Bud’ Fawcett, Merlyn Fawcett, Leslie Fawcett Jr., William Fawcett, and Ed Fawcett, 2 sisters; Mary Morrell and Beaterice Howard, 2 son-in-laws; Ron Ward and Ron Chapin, and daughter-in-law; Joann Marie Mills.

Surviving are her 5 children, Earl Mills of Havana, Sara (and Edwin) Allen of Havana, Peggy Chapin of Havana, Monica Ferree of Havana and Roxanne Ward of Cuba, 16 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and 2 brothers; Paul Fawcett of Fredrick, IL and Robert Fawcett of Havana, IL.

Susie first worked as a CNA at numerous nursing homes in Havana and Petersburg. She later became a stay at home mom to her children.

Susie loved her family and enjoyed weekends with her family. She always looked forward to spending time with them. She attended the First Assembly of God Church in Havana. She also loved her 3 dogs, her ‘fur babies’, Paige, Chance and Skipper.

Cremation rites have been accorded.
