Carroll E. Oliver

August 25th, 1933 – June 15th, 2023

Carroll E. Oliver passed away on June 15, 2023 in Mission, Texas. He was formerly of Canton, Illinois. Carroll was born on August 25, 1933 to John S. and Alice (Lutz) Oliver from Vermont, Illinois. He married Kathryn F. Burriss from Astoria, Illinois on May 25, 1954. Kathryn passed away in October of 2012. Later in life, he married Leota Erickson who survives.

Carroll is survived by three children; Kevin (Rita) Oliver, Kim Waddell and Keena (Mike) Coffey, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. He also has step-children; Luann (Nick) Mangan, Kent Groves and Dianna (Kirk) Johansson, five step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews.

Carroll worked at Caterpillar and Rohn Towers for a short time. He then became a lifelong truck driver before retiring.

He loved rebuilding antique cars, both while he was working and after his retirement. He also enjoyed traveling and flipping homes. Eventually, he ended up a permanent resident in Mission, Texas.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 30th, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the Woodland Cemetery in Astoria, Illinois. Military rites will be conducted by the Astoria American Legion Post #25. A Celebration Of Life will be held immediately following the graveside at the Canton American Legion, 550 South 4th Avenue, Canton, Illinois 61520.
