Rosemary Aten

July 26th, 1936 – October 24th, 2023

Rosemary Aten, 87, of Ipava, passed away at 10:57 am on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at The Elms in Macomb, IL. She was born on July 26, 1936 in the Table Grove Hospital, Table Grove, IL, the daughter of J. Willis and Nelda (Branson) Krider. Rosemary married Rodney Aten on July 13, 1955 in Ipava, IL. He survives.

Also surviving is her daughter, Debby (and Lance) Horwedel of Lewistown, IL, three granddaughters, Marcy Jo Sparks, Heather (and David) Segil and Tara Horwedel, four great-grandchildren, her brother Richard (and Sheila) Krider of Vermont, IL and her sister Jane (and Barney) Ogden of Allerton, IA.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son, Rodney Dwayne Aten and daughter, Diana Jo Confer.

Rosemary was a homemaker and soccer mom before they were called that. She was a waitress, owned her own business, The Clay Hut in Ipava and later worked as a Pharmacy Tech at Wal-Mart in Macomb, IL, retiring in 1999.

She loved to shop and go antiquing.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials in Rosemary’s memory may be made to the Ipava Fire and Rescue Squad.
