Lori L. Bucher

March 10th, 1962 – March 21st, 2015

Lori L. Bucher, age 53 of Havana, IL, passed away at 12:15 pm Saturday, March 21, 2015 at her home. She was born on March 10, 1962 in Canton, IL, a daughter of Jerry and Nina (Goforth) Scalf. She married Alvin Bucher on December 5, 1991 in Astoria. He survives.

Also surviving are her mother, Nina (and Robert) Smith of Lewistown, IL, daughter Shawna Wallick of Havana, sons Gary (and Sarah Brooks) Wallick of Astoria and Clinton (and Nicole) Bucher of Havana, step-son Isaac Bucher of Peoria, IL, and step-daughter Rachel Bucher of Pekin, IL, five grandchildren, Haily Thornson, Preston Bucher, Zach Bucher, Allison Miller, and Andrew Miller, and two sisters, Linda (and Eldon) Chipman of Lewistown, IL and Julie (and Jim) Bickle of Reynolds, IL..

Lori was preceded in death by her father.

She was an LPN, working at the Community Medical Clinic in Astoria for almost 15 years. She then went to work for the Havana Medical Associates, working there the last 5 years.

Lori loved her family and spending time with them. She had a passion for photography and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.

Lori was a member of the Illinois Street Christian Church in Lewistown.

Services will be held on Wednesday evening, March 25th, at 8:00 pm at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Reverend Bob Miner will officiate. Visitation will take place 2 hours prior to the services. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to the Illinois Street Christian Church or an Education Fund established at the Havana National Bank for Haily Thornson and Preston Bucher.

I met Lori 5 years ago, she had this huge smile on her face the first time I saw her and a huge smile the last time I saw her. Lori was a good person with a huge heart. She was an excellent nurse, very caring. My thoughts go out to all of her family. She will be truly missed by all who knew her and those who didn't really missed out. I will miss that smiling face, Lori loved her kids and grandbabies and it showed when she spoke of them which was often! Rest in peace Lori, never forgotten.
