Shawn L. Herrick

October 25th, 1968 – January 3rd, 2024

Shawn L. Herrick, 55, of Augusta, IL, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at his home. He was born on October 25, 1968 in Rushville, IL, the son of Dan and Nancy (Bent) Herrick.

He is survived by two sons; Ethan (and Addy O’Brien) Herrick of Springfield, IL and Bryce (and Ashlee) Herrick of Augusta, IL, daughter; Marissa Herrick of Biggsville, IL, grandchildren; Ayslee Herrick, Bradley Herrick and Eden Herrick, father; Dan (and Kathy) Herrick of Canton, IL, mother; Nancy Herrick of Canton, IL, and sister; Angie McCollum of Peoria, IL.

He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Shawn last worked as a heavy machine operator at Western Illinois Metals and D & D Enterprises of Illinois in Colchester, IL.

Shawn loved hunting, fishing, heavy metal music and being outside, doing yard work. He also enjoyed tinkering with various things. He always found a use for something and was hesitant to throw things away because he would find a purpose for it. Most of all, Shawn loved his grandchildren and loved being a grandpa.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Monday, January 8, 2024 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, IL. Cremation rites will be accorded after the visitation.
