Christina L. Morris

October 21st, 1951 – January 15th, 2024

Christina L. Morris, 72, of Astoria, IL, passed away at 4 pm on Monday, January 15, 2024 at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville, IL. She was born on October 21, 1951 in Canton, IL, the daughter of Thomas and Betty Lou (Orwig) Thomas. Christina married Neil C. Morris on May 13, 1972 in Browning, IL. Neil preceded Christina in death on January 7, 1999.

She is also preceded in death by her parents and three brothers; Norman, Dean and Michael Thomas.

Survivors include her special friend, William Stodonly of Astoria, IL, daughter, Annalee (and Michael) Swank of Abingdon, IL, three grandsons; Mark Payne of Astoria, IL, Jacob Payne of Jacksonville, IL, and James Swank of Peoria, IL, granddaughter; Amanda Payne of Joy, IL, four brothers; Steven Thomas of Beardstown, IL, Stanley Thomas of Indiana, Phillip Thomas of Astoria, IL, and David Thomas of Vermont, IL, four great-grandchildren; Max Payne, Liam Payne, Violet Allen, and Joshua Jordan, and 14 nieces and nephews.

Christina worked at JBS in Beardstown, IL.

Services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, January 19, 2024 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Pastor Matthew Thiner will officiate. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Astoria Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Christina Morris Memorial Fund.
