Donna Joanne "Jo" Heath

September 16th, 1935 – March 22nd, 2024

Donna Joanne “Jo” Heath, 88, of Adair, IL, passed away at 7:07 pm on Friday, March 22, 2024 at The Elms in Macomb, IL. She was born on September 16, 1935 in Rushville, IL, the daughter of Donald and Ruby (Chapman) Etter. Jo married Bernard Heath in June 29, 1957 in Astoria, IL. Bernard preceded Jo in death on November 11, 2019.

She is also preceded in death by her parents, and one sister; Phyllis “Jeanne” Hartman.

Survivors include her daughter; Jennifer (and Amy) Heath of Bloomington, IL, son; Bradley (and Tara) Heath of Macomb, granddaughter, Taylor (and Steven) Huffman of Table Grove, IL, two grandsons; Jarrett Beal and Jack Beal, both of Macomb, 3 great-grandchildren; Merritt, Lincoln, and Oakland Huffman, two sisters; Judy Grafton of Nixa, MO and Joyce (and Bill) Palmer of Rushville, IL.

Jo was an office manager and bookkeeper at Kline’s Department Store and Professional Eye Care for Dr. Bengtson, both in Macomb.

Jo was a lifelong Cubs fan. She enjoyed gardening, working in the yard, bowling and was an avid reader. She loved animals of all kind. She also loved her family and spending time with them.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, March 30, 2024 in the Astoria Cemetery. Pastor Matthew Thiner will be officiating. Memorials may be made to MDH Hospice or the McDonough County Animal Shelter.

To Grandma Joyce, Brad and Jennifer and family. I am so saddened by this loss to our family. Jo was always bringing smiles to the ones around her. I often have thought back to spending Thanksgiving at her home and sharing stories and making memories. She has brought joy to myself and those who knew her. Brad and Jennifer I am so sorry for your loss. I loved your mom and the wonderful years I got to work with her at Klines. She was fun, funny, kind and loving. I will miss knowing she is not here but glad she is no longer in pain.

Joyce and Judy and family my heartfelt sympathy. Joyce I think I remember going to Coal City to visit Jo many many years ago. I recall her showing us how to fold fitted sheets. I haven’t seen her since that time so I will remember her as a young woman. ❤️
