Jacob O. Moulton

September 3rd, 2005 – June 5th, 2024

Jacob O. Moulton, age 18 of Vermont, Illinois, passed away at 5:11 p.m. Wednesday, June 5th in Vermont Township. He was born on September 3, 2005 in Macomb, Illinois, the son of Joshua and Maxine (Hughes) Moulton. He was a 2024 graduate of VIT High School where he was active in FFA, the Ag Club, Drama Club and was on the yearbook committee. He played baseball for the South Fulton Rebels and he loved to fish, hunt and anything that had to do with the outdoors. He enjoyed science and playing video games. He was always eager to volunteer, especially at the Vermont Ballpark. He had a heart of gold and always had a big smile on his face.

He worked as a crew member at McDonald’s West in Macomb.

He is survived by his father Joshua (Tenerra) Moulton of Vermont, his mother Maxine (David) Richards of Macomb, his sister Annmarie Hughes of Macomb, his brother Todd Hughes of Moline, Illinois, grandparents Brian Danner of Table Grove, Illinois and Angel and Lenny Hughes of Kilbourne, Illinois, his uncle Tony (Jared Hickle) Moulton (with whom he made his home) and aunt Marcy Moulton of Vermont, aunt Keshia (Christopher) Williams of Vermont, aunt Nikki Danner of Macomb, cousins Emily Moulton of Astoria, Illinois, who was like a sister to him, Kirsten Danner of Macomb and Kaitlin Vaughn of Plymouth.

Jacob was preceded in death by grandmothers Carol Danner and Nancy Ranes, great-grandmother Ruby Sipes and uncle Larry Hughes.

Services will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Pastor Cody Stinnett will officiate. Visitation will take place from 9:30-11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in the Astoria Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Jacob Moulton Memorial Account in care of the Table Grove State Bank.

Jacob was a caring and helpful young man. Jacob would take his shirt off his back for anyone that needed help. Jacob will be missed by alot of people. my nephew jacob was well known to alot of people love cathy and matt and harlee hughes

I got to know Jacob through time spent in places like youth group, play practices, we worked together in vermont for a while, so I got to know him pretty well.
