Charles H. "Chuck" Hopping
March 7th, 1954 – June 24th, 2024
Charles H. “Chuck” Hopping, 70, of Industry, IL, passed away at 9:08 am on Monday, June 24, 2024 at his home. He was born on March 7, 1954 in Macomb, IL, the son of Clifford and Margaret (McCormick) Hopping.
He is survived by two sons; Charles “CJ” (and Tiffany) Hopping Jr. and Christopher Michael (and Samantha) Hopping, both of Bushnell, IL, ten grandchildren; Tarek, Adian, Katelynn, Azalea, Kyndle, Noah, Huxley, Kinnick, Liam, and Samuel Hopping, two sisters; Donna (and Jerry) VanOpdorp of Atkinson, IL and Ilene Bearce of Macomb, IL, and one brother, Leroy Hopping of Quincy, IL.
He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers; Ronald, Gary and Donald Hopping, and one sister; Sue Taylor.
Chuck had worked several years at Sullivan Brothers, later becoming Nutrien AG Solutions in Macomb, IL.
Chuck’s favorite hobby was to work. He enjoyed staying busy and working on things even during down time. He also enjoyed talking to friends, watching football and racing, hot rods and car shows. He loved his family most of all and spending time with them.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 12 pm on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, IL. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service on July 6. Memorials may be made to education funds for Chuck’s Grandchildren.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all the family and friends in the loss of a wonderful guy. Chuck always came into the office with a smile and never left without leaving that smile to us all no matter what kind of day we were having. We will miss him.

I worked with Chuck and he always had a smile. He was a real "character". Just talked to him a couple of days ago and had such a great conversation. I will miss you ole buddy!
